<midnight> .. because the sks servers are all dying due to storage spam and fake-key uploading and GDPR demands (surprisingly)
<midnight> \o ah, there is a keyserver still up is there. a couple of the keys in the gitian list aren't there either. I'll track them down meself.
<fanquake> there's also hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80
<midnight> hrmm
<Bullit> No They never met it is all protocol speculation about the transmitting of hash keys probably related to the amount of interest in a value of 420k

<laanwj> S3RK: you can route it over anything if you know what you're doing, Tor hidden services can be protected with keys so it can be reasonably safe; and IIRC this would still be possible with a UNIX socket
<laanwj> it's not ssomething that will ever be supported out of the box, you'll have to puzzle some pieces together to do something like that if you need it in a specific use case
<laanwj> (i've, for example, redirected c-lightning's and bitcoin RPC over ssh verious times to get remote access to them)

<michaelfolkson> bitcoin.conf in .bitcoin controls mainnet, testnet, signet nodes etc. Would it not make more sense to have a bitcoin.conf in the testnet3/signet directory controlling the testnet/signet node?
<michaelfolkson> Didn't know you had to stop mainnet, testnet and signet node (assuming running them in parallel) to change the bitcoin.conf
<michaelfolkson> Does a bitcoin.conf in the testnet3/signet directory work if there is no bitcoin.conf in .bitcoin? I'll have to try

<michaelfolkson> Changed my RPC username, password on what I thought was my mainnet node (stopped it before) but it also applied to my testnet, signet node :)
<michaelfolkson> My testnet, signet nodes were still running and now require the new RPC username, password
<michaelfolkson> hebasto: Thanks
<hebasto> yw :)
<sipa> michaelfolkson: if you change the passphrase without restarting, bitcoin-cli will read the new one, but bitcoind will still be using the old one, so it'll likely stop working until you restart
<michaelfolkson> sipa: Yeah it won't let me do bitcoin-cli stop on my signet, testnet nodes :)

<prayank> I was looking at all issues and PRs related to privacy in different Bitcoin projects. So found this: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/6569
<prayank> 1. Is this issue addressed in any open/closed PRs?
<prayank> 2. Apart from amount, we can also fix change type. Example: if I am using Core with bc1 addresses and sending to someone using address that starts with 3, change address if starts with 3 it will be good for privacy.

<prayank> Thanks
<achow101> that's how the change type is determined, and this will include checking the recipients to get a change type that matches them if the type is not overridde
