has anyone thought about some kind of alerting system when the CI on your PR fails? I think it could be nice if e.g. bitcoin-git bot here sends you a DM (assuming nicknames are the same), or drahtbot tags the author as assigned in the PR (looks like you can't assign the author as reviewer). nothing too intrusive, just a gentle notification
<stickies-v>
(don't really have time to look at implementing it atm, just thought I'd raise the idea in case it inspires anyone - or if it's been tried before)
<darosior>
stickies-v: when we used Travis it would send me a mail. Maybe Cirrus can do that too?
<darosior>
You'd have to link your Github account on Travis iirc
<brunoerg>
not sure, but I think you can set "on_failure" on task and setup it to call a script which sends an email

darosior: thanks, I hadn't even considered that. cirrus-ci doesn't have its own notification system (https://cirrus-ci.org/guide/notifications/), it just ties in with github actions
<stickies-v>
unfortunately that requires (e.g. https://github.com/cirrus-actions/email) a repo-wide hook, which means that it if it's even possible to have this be sent to the PR author, allowing to unsubscribe etc is probably going to be pain and requires an SMTP server etc
<stickies-v>
does anyone know where the bitcoin-git bot source code is hosted and/or who's maintaining it?
<brunoerg>
Before it, it was using `sendtoaddress`, now it uses `send_self_transfer` which calls `create_self_transfer` and since it's not specifying the utxo to spend, it will call `get_utxo`
<pinheadmz>
did sendtoaddress specify a utxo ?
<brunoerg>
`get_utxo` can return a coinbase utxo with less confirmations than necessary causing that issue
<pinheadmz>
oh i see, sendtoaddress is bitcoind wallet rpc
<brunoerg>
sendtoaddress is a RPC command
<pinheadmz>
and the new method is the python wallet
<pinheadmz>
which didnt check for CB maturity
<brunoerg>
yes!
<pinheadmz>
word up
<brunoerg>
i'm working on a fix for it

hmm, can anyone recall any recent changes that would alter the utxo snapshot hashes (i.e. ComputeUTXOStats)? The final assumeutxo functional tests are now failing based on an assumeutxo hash mismatch, and I'm trying to figure out what might have changed

<_aj_>
jamesob: shouldn't be? you should be able to copy the chain from the functional test and point an old bitcoind at it and check it gives the same hash as the new one?
