< bitbee>
is roger ver still stealing bitcoin core code?
< gmaxwell>
who cares?

Even though it should be "obvious" that anything tagged 0.17.0 should be somewhat high priority, I've added some of the outstanding PRs to the High Priority queue, as it's almost empty atm anyways.

Hi guys I am sorry for the basic question, but I would like to debug the bitcoin and I would like to know what tools for debug do you use for Ubuntu ? Does anybody use and IDE for Ubuntu ? I tried to use netbeans, eclipse
< achow101>
Lico: most people just use a text editor (e.g. vim, emacs) and gdb for debugging
< Lico>
achow, my problem is that when I put a breakpoint, for example to check the miner thread the gdb gives me and error like this: Cannot find user-level thread for LWP 72890: generic error
< Lico>
and the thread LWP doesn´t really exists
< Lico>
I tried with several ides netbeans, eclipse, vscode, but I am not able to debug,
< achow101>
Lico: then you are using gdb incorrectly
< Lico>
achow, is there any configuration you need to execute? like any shared libray you need to insert into .gdbinit ?

wishes there was an option like +r that only prevented posting messages, not joining
<@wumpus>
unidentiefied users should be free to read along here but for posting, requiring registration makes sense
< echeveria>
wumpus: you can emulate that with a bot, I think. set +m (moderation, only voiced can talk), and voice anybody identified.
< echeveria>
or uh. I swear I've seen channels act like that on freenode come to think of it.
< wumpus>
echeveria: a bot would work, I think it's kind of noisy
< echeveria>
yeah. not ideal.
< provoostenator>
Mirroring everything in #bitcoin-core-dev-read-only is not ideal either I guess
< provoostenator>
I'd like to lobby for adding #13696 to 0.17 milestone (if it doesn't suddenly turn into a nightmare). In practice I find it's non-trivial to maintain separate scripts for 32 and 64 bit ARM devices.

wth is this spam?
< no_input_found>
Windows defender just flagged that link as a virus lol
<@wumpus>
it looks like a (very primitive) attempt at script injection for javascript IRC clients
< no_input_found>
muh chat logs :(
< echeveria>
wumpus: no, it's designed to trigger anti virus false positives when written to disk.
<@wumpus>
I'm sure vereyone here is paranoid here but, please don't follow the link
< gmaxwell>
I wonder how including that links helps their spamming?
< Squidicuz>
lovely.. :(

We got the message, jesus.
< gmaxwell>
Repeating it just makes it look less credible, FWIW
< sipa>
gmaxwell: on another (barely maintained) irc network he's been spamming these messages for hours in every channel
< echeveria>
gmaxwell: using a literal botnet makes it look less credible.
< gmaxwell>
well thats probably whats happening, trolls are paying someone to promote it... the people promoting it don't care if they undermine the message
